These solar power systems make great do-it-yourself projects and while the amount of power stored may not be to the same level, you would still have the ability to run the main items in the home free. For instance, the air conditioner, heater, washer and dryer, dishwasher, television, internet, etc would all be supported by a smaller home solar power system.
When choosing, several key factors would need to be considered. For instance, the amount of electricity used annually, the amount of money you want to save, finances you are able to invest, and your geographical area are just a few. As long as the solar power system or kit is purchased from a reputable company, you would be able to support a healthier planet, operate some or the entire home on free power, and in some cases, sell surplus power back to the utility company whereby they would actually pay you.
